Quill: your inbox in Claude, and a habit worth keeping before you send

Quill is AdvisorPPC's mail product. It connects the mailbox you already use, so you can read conversations and write replies inside your AdvisorPPC dashboard.

A stack of layered note sheets with the top sheet lifted clear and small green points marking measured findings.

For a small business, the inbox is where money is won and lost: the quote request that waits a day too long, the failed payment nobody noticed, the angry follow-up that a quick, kind reply would have calmed. Most of that mail does not need a clever answer. It needs a fast, correct one, and a moment to check it before it goes.

Quill is AdvisorPPC's mail product. It connects the mailbox you already use, so you can read conversations and write replies inside your AdvisorPPC dashboard. It is available with a Quill-issued key. Through Claude, Quill's tools include list_inboxes, list_threads, send_email and mailbox_connect.

Read, draft, check, send

Here is what each step does today, and where the check sits:

StepWhat happensWho checks
List inboxes and threadsClaude reads what is waiting, urgent firstNothing to check
Draft a replyClaude writes it in the chat; nothing is sentYou read and edit
Check settingsYou review your Quill settingsYou
SendClaude calls send_email and the mail goesNo confirm step in Quill

That last row matters. Quill does not ask for a confirm before send_email runs. So the check is yours: read the draft before you ask Claude to send it.

Quill also keeps a record of every reply an agent sent, including whether the mail actually left. A reply that was filed in Sent but never delivered is shown as exactly that.

Connecting it

Quill's connector address is https://quill.advisorppc.com/api/mcp, and it uses a Quill-issued bearer key rather than a sign-in. In Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http quill https://quill.advisorppc.com/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_QUILL_KEY"

Treat the key like a password: never paste it into a chat, a shared file or a screenshot.

To connect a mailbox from Claude, ask for it. mailbox_connect hands back a one-time connect page, and Claude never asks for your mailbox password. For a mailbox on your own domain, Quill's Connect tab lists the DNS records the domain needs and checks what is published today. It never writes to your DNS and never asks for a registrar login.

Five prompts to start with

  1. "Which inboxes are connected?"
  2. "List this week's threads in my main inbox, urgent ones first."
  3. "Summarise the thread from the customer who wrote about a refund."
  4. "Draft a short, friendly reply to that customer here in the chat."
  5. Claude calls send_email; check your Quill settings first.

The first four only read or draft. The fifth sends, and it sends as soon as Claude calls it.

Plans

Quill is a separate product from the main AdvisorPPC connector. If you also use the main connector: Free is now 3x. Free reads Google Ads, GA4, Tag Manager, Search Console and YouTube, with no card; changes start on a paid plan.

If it does not work

If Claude Code reports an authorization error, check that the bearer key is current and copied in full, then add the connector again. If Claude says the mailbox is not connected, ask for a new connect page, or connect your accounts at https://mcp.advisorppc.com/dashboard. If replies are filed but not delivered, check the domain records on the Connect tab.

Why the habit matters

Mail cannot be taken back once it lands. Reading the draft once more before you ask for the send costs ten seconds and catches the line you would phrase differently after a coffee, or the detail the customer changed in their last message. AI makes drafting fast. It is still your name at the bottom of the reply.
