Plan weekday escape-room ads around rooms you can actually sell
Align weekday campaigns with open rooms, staff, and slow-day offers so ads do not promise slots you cannot run.

Weekdays tempt owners with cheap clicks and empty rooms, but an ad is a promise about time and theme. If only two of five games are staffed on Tuesday, promoting "choose any adventure" can create a mismatch between the offer and what the venue can deliver. Plan weekday ads around sellable inventory: rooms, hosts, and maintenance windows you will honor.
Inventory sheet before creative
For each weekday block next week, list:
- Room name and minimum/maximum players,
- Whether a game master is assigned,
- Holds for corporate tours or cleaning,
- Known tech maintenance.
If a room is unavailable during the advertised booking period, update the offer and destination or pause the affected promotion. A temporarily closed room may still accept bookings for later dates; keep that future availability and its conditions clear rather than pausing every keyword for the theme. Google's business integrity guidance on misleading offers appears in policy documents such as Misrepresentation; unavailable games are an operations problem that becomes a policy problem when ads exaggerate choice.
Hypothetical Tuesday plan
Scenario (hypothetical): A venue runs three rooms. Tuesday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.:
| Room | Status | Ad messaging allowed |
|---|---|---|
| Heist | Open | Yes, standard price |
| Submarine | Open | Yes, "two rooms tonight" |
| Horror | Closed for sensor repair | No horror-specific ads |
They run a Search ad emphasizing Heist and Submarine and show a weekday code only if checkout honors its stated conditions. If they also run Display or Video remarketing, they review supported frequency controls using Use frequency capping. That guidance does not provide a Search campaign frequency cap, and Google states that Demand Gen does not support it.
Their hypothesis is fewer irrelevant clicks and a higher share of Tuesday bookings. That outcome needs measurement; the revised wording does not guarantee it. They will measure with the booked-group ledger, not platform revenue columns alone.
Worksheet: weekday sellable-room planner
Repeat this two-column card for every weekday and time block.
| Field | Record before promotion |
|---|---|
| Day and time block | Eligible booking window |
| Sellable rooms | Actual open room names |
| Assigned staff | Hosts available for those rooms |
| Holds and maintenance | Slots that cannot be offered |
| Campaign decision | Ads eligible to run or pause |
| Destination check | Offer and checkout match availability |
| Stop-spend rule | Minimum capacity agreed with ownership |
Add a row for stop spend if fewer than N rooms are sellable. Pre-agree N with ownership.
Offer design without training bad habits
A weekday offer should specify its eligible slots and preserve enough contribution to deliver the booking. Test the commercial result rather than assuming a discount will improve it. State the eligible days in checkout logic, not only in ad text. If a code works on Saturday because someone forgot to restrict it, you have created a margin problem that ads reporting will not explain.
Pair slow-day ads with email to past guests only when consent and frequency rules allow. In-house lists are not a license to blast everyone who played once three years ago.
Scheduling and bids
Ad scheduling should reflect when customers book and when the business can handle the next step. A working online checkout may accept tomorrow's booking while the venue is closed. Check the account time zone and the supported bidding controls before changing one lever. About Ad Scheduling.
Corporate inquiries may fill Tuesday afternoons without discount ads. Separate corporate pipeline reporting from consumer weekday promos so you do not cut profitable B2B leads to chase coupon hunters.
Coordinating with staff rosters
Game masters sometimes prefer weekend shifts. Weekday ads that succeed can stress staff who are not scheduled. Share the sellable-room planner with shift leads every Friday. If marketing promotes Tuesday Heist slots, operations must assign someone who knows that room's reset checklist. A single no-show host can waste more margin than the ads saved.
Track refund rate on weekday bookings separately. If refunds rise after a promotion, review cancellation reasons, booking errors and the promised room mix before assigning a cause.
Limits
Discounting weekdays can train customers to avoid weekends. Document margin after discounts before you institutionalize a code. A lower click price does not establish higher contribution or additional bookings.
Using ads data without over-automating
An AI assistant with the relevant read access can help inspect which campaigns spent on Tuesdays last month. Approve campaign changes only after someone checks the roster, offer terms and actual booking availability. Review current AdvisorPPC access levels on pricing. Platform attribution can include measured and modeled outcomes. Neither attributed bookings nor this comparison alone prove that Tuesday discounts caused additional groups.
Record a useful stop rule
Suppose a weekday group contributes $90 after its discount, host time and other variable delivery costs. If the venue wants $40 left before overhead and fixed fees, its illustrative advertising allowance is $50 per extra booked group. That is a planning assumption, not a bidding target established by platform evidence. Compare it with mature, deduplicated bookings and the venue's real contribution costs.
Pair the financial limit with a capacity limit. If either staffed room becomes unavailable, stop promoting that room and update the destination before taking more orders. Decide who checks availability at the start of the campaign and after an operations change. Advertising data alone cannot tell the team whether a sensor has failed or a host is absent.
Practical next step
Fill next week's planner with operations, then adjust ads Monday morning. Archive the sheet beside campaign change logs.
